Well the team had their first road trip for the season.

Weather looked bleak on our side of the hill, we arrived in Blenheim on a sunny, yet windy day.

Lost the toss, got put in on a deck that looked good to bat on, maybe the locals knew something we didn’t.

Zabe and Shaun done there best to get some Momentum and blunt off the new ball, lasted 6 over when one stuck in the pitch and Zabe got a leading edge.

Shaun should have brought a lotto ticket, simple caught and bowled was squandered, then a caught behind the next ball also popped out. He didn’t make the most and tried to smack a full ball into the wind and was caught at mid on.

Had been doing well at that stage 50 for 2 after 16, then we got a severe case of the middle/ lower order wobbles.

Max Manning, coming in at 6  held the ship together best he could and was the last wicket out as we finished at 98 all out after 40 overs.

The Bowling couldn’t have started off any better with young Jackson knocking over the top of off stump with his first ball.

The Blenheim side never really looked in trouble, finishing 5 down and chasing a early finish with rain coming in, we got gifted a few late wickets once the result was beyond doubt.

The young fellas never gave up in the field, chased hard all day, took all catches that came to them, but we needed another 50 to make a real game of it.
