Welcome to the Wanderers Sports Club Website.

History:

Wanderers came about back in 1951 when several rugby clubs (Pirates and Rovers) from Hope, Brightwater and Wakefield combined.

The name Wanderers was decided upon, with some debate, after an old Wanderers cricket club based in Springrove half way between the Brightwater and Wakefield communities. In 1982, cricket came under the Wanderers banner, followed in 1984 by netball, and tennis in 1985 (now defunct) it's latest edition was in 2011 when Rugby league became part of the Club.

A squash court and a Community Gym(in the old Bowling Green) making Wanderers a truly multi-sport club. Wanderers main ground is Centennial Park (Brightwater Domain), and at Lord Rutherford Park on the west side of Brightwater. All netball is played at Saxtons field in Stoke.

Colours: Wanderers colours are Royal blue and gold.

Wanderers clubrooms are open anytime a sporting fixture is on.

Cricket in the summer and Rugby in the winter dependant on what games are being played there that day. New membership is welcomed and encouraged even if the person does not wish to play any particular sport.

The club has a fully licenced bar and kitchen facilities. Membership is preferable, but you can be signed in by a member or if you are from a sporting club that has reciprocal visiting rights

Family Membership fees are $25 per year. These fees are outside of subscriptions (affiliation fees) that are paid for playing in your particular code or sport.

Squash fees are $175.00 a year.(this includes membership fee), this can be obtained through our club manager, Diane Drogemuller or at the club itself.

The Taylors Brightwater Community Gym is also now open as a community facility. $300 for 1 year.

Our financial year runs October 1st to September 30th, as do all our memberships. Check contact details on the website.
